Hotel Mar de Cortez
Hotel Mar de Cortez is a charming, popular colonial Mexican style hotel in the center of Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Hotel Mar de Cortez is a popular hotel and has air-conditioned rooms, private baths, large swimming pool and offers classic Mexican charm. Just a short walk to shops, beaches, and the marina, economical, good value and good service. The Hotel Mar de Cortez was among the first three hotels in Cabo San Lucas when it was a quaint fishing village.
Family owned and operated for the past 30 years, the hotel has also retained many of its friendly staff members who recognize returning guests with an especially warm smile. In fact, our repeat clientele is significant, surely attributed to our great service, excellent rates and down home hospitality. The architecture of its rooms & suites, including a new wing that opened this past year, reflects the charming Mexican flavor of Baja California Sur. Each room is attractively appointed and very popular. Many of the accommodations open up to the pool area, others to the courtyard.
Accommodations: 90 Air-conditioned rooms; 1-4 beds.
The 27 Standard Rooms are all ground floor rooms, with the exception of four, and have a queen plus a twin bed; or double plus a twin; or two double beds. One room has a king bed only. The 18 Terrace Rooms opened in October 2001 and were an instant hit. They are all upper level and each has a queen plus a twin bed, and opens up to an extended terrace / walkway with tables and chairs overlooking the hotel's courtyard and palm trees.
The 20 Garden View Rooms all have two double beds, an extra large shower and bath area with either a private patio or balcony overlooking the garden and pool. These large rooms are always in demand and can accommodate up to three persons comfortably. The 10 extra-large King Suites are tucked back in the corners of the hotel and accommodate up to four people easily. These suites are one large room with a king plus two twin beds. The 6 extra-large Suites are also tucked back in the corners of the hotel and accommodate up to four people easily. A 2 plus 2 suite is one large room with two double and two twin beds. All suites have a very large shower and bath area plus a sitting area. These suites are especially suitable for families.
